Give people a reason to talk
An icebreaker is a short activity that helps people start a conversation. Choose a light, familiar subject: a hobby, a funny story or a shared coffee. Not everyone wants to share personal information or perform in front of a group.
From introductions to another conversation
Gatcha gives participants small missions for each other, making introductions a game with points and coins. A first conversation can give them something to return to later. Consider it for a new team, an event or welcoming new colleagues.
No pressure to be outgoing
Explain that nobody needs to share anything they prefer to keep private. Let people swap unsuitable missions. Start with a conversation between two people rather than a performance for the whole group. The aim is connection, not embarrassment.
